At the lower end of the spectrum, however, I can say that my owned-since-new Marshall JVM 410C doesn't blow me away either, despite it's lower $2,500.00 (current new) price tag.

I'm glad you clarified, Robert. I think you and I are actually closer together than not.

I think as you go past a certain price point you start to enter the area of diminishing returns, tube or not. Where that threshold of price is, is a matter of debate I suppose. My guess that it is around the $2000.00 price point, or maybe $1500.00. But, I don't know. I do know I've been able to coax some good sounds out of some cheap amps, but I feel I've wasted some money on cheap stuff over the years, as well.

I’m not trying to negate your opinions. I’m just stating mine.
I guess I’m just more interested in “HNGD” and “HNAD” threads than I am “*insert product name etc* is lame” style threads. People make this stuff(gear and music) for us to enjoy. People like you. Other humans too.

All Dumbles amps don't sound good. I was recording with my Billy Zoom modified Fender amps 1966 Fender Pro reverb 1958 Fender tweed Deluxe and a 1977 Fender twin reverb 135 watt. MR. Dumble was in the studio and the recording engineer asked if I would try this amp I was not allowed to adjust it. The next day the producer asked what was wrong with me what you recorded sucks and I'm not paying you for that crap. I spent that day with my amps re-recording
At the end of the day the producer that's what I want. I told him what the story was he fined the engineer a days pay.
Each Dumble amp is built for an artist the amp I played was owned by the Beach Boys. And I did pass the Dumble audition and got a build price sheet.
And if that Dumble amp was making noise it should need a electrolytic capacitor replacement job. I do own a real Dumble HRM-100 combo amp most of my builds
sound better but the real Dumble amp will just increase in value it was a gift I could sell it for big $$$
