Who's working on some new cover songs

Nothing really new so to speak. Been working on Behind Blue Eyes for what seems like forever. I can play my version of it, just not to my satisfaction. Been working on Tom Petty’s Into the Great Wide Open. More recently Sound of Silence and Rockin in the Free World. Both on acoustic. Been playing Rockin for a long time, but I dropped both it and Silence about 14 steps so I could actually sing them. Almost like learning a new song.

I'm working on few

I start learning song and half way I start learning something else,

mostly been working on travel in stygian by Iced Earth, cant get intro for some reason to many triplets too fast for my hand.

Still have to learn solo for seek and destroy by Metallica, I knew how to play it but forgotten it.

Another one is repentless by Slayer amongst many half way learnt songs, I'll get to them eventually.

10 days travel(we had to go through that Storm from Indianapolis to York yesterday,,I70 & I76 ,joy..joy)..no playing..which is a lifetime to me..picked up the SG & into 2205 today..had looper on. always capture the first thing that comes out after a lay off.. new song in process now. Going back to 5 years ago & pick up that initial guitar vibe before all the gear & analysis..just want to let out what is naturally there again..no pre conceived ideas,

Weird just been in original bands since day 1. Got first bass & 10 days later was in a Punk band. Kinda live for it.

I'll kick this can down the road....

Been working on Peace of Mind on and off, from the electric intro, verse rhythm, through first solo.
Struggling to play some of the parts consistently due to skill level limitations.

Lately, I have fallen somewhat into the first Boston record guitar Tom Scholz tone rabbit hole.
There are some good forum posts out there about it.
So far I have found some tone I like, but its not that tone.

In general, I have been spending some of my play time on learning my amps better.

Keep at it and you will overcome obstacles, I had hard time with one song but eventually i got it, not 100% but close enough.

Ive been writing more then learning covers, i wrote 7 full songs in seven weeks, my head is empty and I need to learn new cover to gove me some ideas.

Doing something that kills me..we are relearning the CD we made right before the accident..oh how painful..covering your own stuff...ughh...new music needed asap on my end

Having to put everything back in E standard & e flat tuning , figuring out how to get it heavy tho.. so new stuff can still thump a bit
