You need a 4x12 cab. You are never gonna move enough air without one.
That would require me buying a different vehicle just to transport it, thats my only objection.

He's just about the greatest singer that ever lived is all. Dude's voice is magic.Funny, i love Halford "Locked & Loaded just as much as Eagle's "One of these Nights."
But, the Halford stuff makes me want to climb fences.
WTF?
Interesting. I don't see that helping other than you hearing yourself a bit better - I assume the cabs are going to be mic'd to front-of-house? This might be enough if so.
If you want to be heard get a JCM 900 or 800 or EVH 5153
I never had a origin but if they are anything in design like a DSL 40c they just don't have enough output in the transformer.
The DSL 40c I had could not compete with 100w JCM 900 4102 or a 50w single rectifier. The 50w rectifier is Hella loud.I ran two DSL40C's for over 2 years and they were ungodly loud. Its not about putput.
The Origin is 50 watt with an extra gain stage.
I think its more in the small details

I know it's comparing 40w and 100w but it was pale in comparison.
That is peculiar. I bought my 40C new. I went through a grip of amps back then. Mind you it was probably biased cold. It was bone stock except the speaker.Interesting. I've never encountered anything like that before, and i only switched away from DSL40C's because of their wright.
Ask @Mitch Pearrow SJMP about how our guitarist - with a 100 watt Carvin full stack - complained to Mitch that he couldn't hear himself over my DSL40C with a 102db EH 12VR75.

You sure there wasn't anything wrong with the Carvin? I had a buddy back in the day that gigged an X100B and that thing was brutally loud when he wound it up. I would wager it would crush any 40 watt combo without getting warm to the touch.

Can't get your guitar through monitor folds?Yes, exactly, for my ability to hear better. I did find out we will be mic'd for this show, so I'll have my amp behind me for reference.
I can't tell you how many times i had ZERO in my monitor and hearing my amp saved the performance.
I have essentially that exact one! So the lower cabinet can be angled. Or a 1x12 combo angles on the top.

ZERO in monitor cause too f'ing loud or monitor issues?
Huh. Interesting. Other than the smallest pub here, everything is mic'd in clubs here. I always need my amp behind me too.In my experience, getting good/adequate sound in your monitor is hit and miss, unless you are working with a paid staffer, which was seldom the case.
Additionally, most clubs don't mic' all the instruments, generally, just drum kit and vocals, with instruments runnimg at stage vume and being "mixed" by signals from a staffer at the back of the venue.
I use my amp like a monitor, so even if i get ZERO in my monitor, my amp "has my back" so to speak....
