Who is your favorite Strat player?

Gilmour.
Clapton but I like him better with an LP, 335 or an SG.
High praise:
Townsend, but like him better with a P90 SG
SRV and Jimi but liked them better alive.
Jeff Beck can squeeze some seemingly impossible sounds out of a strat.
Robert Cray - straight into the amp kind of guy.
Buddy Guy.

Cant really pick one though... in this context I go Gilmour With the STRAT, as opposed to other players I like more with another instrument, but who are also known strat players.

Since I too really consider Clapton a Gibson man, I have to say David Gilmour, followed by Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix.
So many greats playing Strats, though. Some other personal favorites are Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan, Ritchie Blackmore and the Danish guitarist Franz Beckerlee. Beckerlee was the guitar player for Denmark's biggest rock band of the 1970s, "Gasolin'". Singing mainly in Danish, they were immensely popular in Scandinavia.

So many great strat players. All above mentioned (surprised Rory's only be mentioned once) & Mark Knopfler hasnt been mentioned. For rock n roll "image" Ronnie Wood's up there. Not a great player but good. Really hard to pick just one. Jimi I think. Cheers

I have to say David Gilmour...he continues to amaze and impress me. I saw him last year and he still has all his chops!
I am also a great lover of the Blues so my second and third choices are Buddy Guy and Rory Gallagher...
...and here is the bomb drop...I don't love Hendrix or Clapton!

I'll say it yet again. Eric was done at the end of the I feel free solo. It was all downhill after that.
....and Jimi only made 4 albums in his life. All the rest has been his estate milking the cash cow.
