Who Is Into Playing Covers

That's fine Gary to each their own. The OP is Who is into playing covers..

Oh yeah Norm, to each their own. I'm not trying to get places shut down that have cover bands or anything, I know people like them. Just not for me in any way, either playing or listening, but that's based in the experience of being in a cover band and having to learn and play a bunch of songs I hated. If I got to choose the material I might feel differently.

I actively avoid places that have cover bands. Mostly, it's music I didn't like all that much when I was young anyway, and generally it's executed poorly.

There was this one bar I used to love to go when I lived in Redondo Beach but I would always have to go early and leave before 2PM because that's when the house cover band started up and ruined the vibe. I'd rather hear nothing than covers.
I agree, but I'd rather hear covers than 99.99999% of people's originals.

The internet was the worse thing for music - back in the day the record companies filtered what was good and we never even had to be exposed to poop. '60s, '70s, '80s ......just one good tune after another. Though they've been burnt to a crip now.

I have no delusions of grandeur of who I am, what I'm capable of or where I'm going as far as playing guitar. So based on that? Covers are mostly what I do, because quiet frankly, I'm not talented enough to create something entirely. I can toss out some random riff I come with on the spot that sometimes sounds kinda cool, most of the time it doesn't though. But I can't construct an entire song, I'm not a lyricist, I don't know drum patterns or even where I'd begin.

I'm a hack and I'm good with that

I'm into trying to sing covers. Playing is out of the question anymore.

(5 is being passive aggressive. Lol)
