Lets see some off the wall lap steel creations.
I've been known to create some bizarre things.
Here's a few, enjoy

Alligator lap steel. This was so popular I had to build 3 of them for local musicians. One even got shipped over to Switzerland.

Roach lap steel. This one "bugs" a lot of people.

Manatee lap steel. I live in Manatee County, Fl. It seemed like the right thing to do...

Any one else have some to share?

Nice stuff.
I actually play a lot of lap steel.
It's a lot of fun, particularly when you get past simple open chord tunings and get into the Eth, A6, C#m, etc. tunings.

I have a couple suggestions. I prefer steels without adjustable guitar type bridges - a plain metal rod or angle bar works well. Next, the string spacing should be wider at the nut than a normal guitar.

Finally, 221/2 inch scales are the best for slant work and stuff.
