both my SGs are 24 frets -- SG1 "All American" and SGJ (with @Hackmaster mods)

(the 2 on the left) the EBO"P" is ...well FRETLESS .........and the one on the right (look familiar @Robert Herndon ?) is long gone
Robert tried to fix it
I tried
@CabanaBoy tried
none of us could get a good USEABLE tone from it
sad because if it had "worked" .... I mean that wall......... WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED?!?!?

What a shame!!!!

It was a nice lookin SG too...

Mine are all 22 frets. That's all you really need. It still gets into the Wank Zone quite easily.

looked good -- but sounded "dead" s you can attest.

As I recall it was sent to the swamp because you couldnt get a good tone form it -- I tried for months -- Cabana boy tried .... maybe the next owner wants some wall candy that he can look at and enjoy the lovely aesthetic of the wood ???

What year would the Gibson SG have had this big, 19th fret neck joint???
Typically ones from 1986 to 2006 had the thicker fretboards, which gave it the wider feel but all the standards from 1966 onward use the 19th fret joint, while most of the 61 and Custom styles still opt for the 22nd fret joint. The standards and 61 today use Maple necks which I firmly disagree with on that particular guitar but hey, if ya like it, more power lol

Thanks for that information. I did finally figure out the difference in the neck joints.

I think maple is a good material for these necks....from a rigidity standpoint.
