Where did you grow up?

Not sure, DONP, but we also have been to KC, St Lou, Nashville, Louisville, Lexington, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and seen all manner of historical, man made, and natural wonders over the past 4-5 years. I am trying to work in making plans to get her on a nice Alaskan cruise someday soon as I went and took 3 buddies in 2008 and had a blast.

You do understand that a trip that was a blast with three buddies may not be the one to take her on? Just saying.

Now, whenever I get to go places with HER,,,,,,,,,,,, I am usually very content just to be both healthy as we go on our adventures. Sadly our first couple trips either she was sick or I was. We still enjoyed where we wound up, but just weren't 100% ( stupid flu or head colds etc) But our last 2 trips we have been 100% healthy and had great times. I even got to take 3 of my guitars along on the last one.

Also, if you can picture other than the fun 4 buds can get into,, The 2 best parts of that Alaskan trip were: for us the roundtrip airfare to Seattle and back was free. Also the Norwegian Cruise ship's 2 cabins were free ( except for tipping the cleaning people) and the food was basically all free. Shows free, swimming and bowling and exercise, Free. I was one lucky Bastage to win the trip!!!! Our only costs were excursions, drinks, souvenirs, and limo rides. So for me this is the 2nd best part, my buddy's treated me on the excursions for free for taking them. Oh and we had an extra day/night in Seattle at the end where we rented 4 Harleys and rode all around Seattle and Puget Sound. Returned the bikes and headed back home looking forward to the time I could one day go back.

Listen boys, you haven't lived until you've seen the World's Largest Thermometer with your own eyes

LOL Gball. I did see that thermo. As she and I went to D Valley, Believe it or not, the park ranger we talked to inside there was one of 3 we could have asked questions to. She happened to have been from Garrett county out by Deep Creek Lake.

That tall thermometer reminds me of a story..... One day I was listening to the radio. The DJ or a comedian was on and he said. Hey folks, if you ever get to feeling like you had a rough time at work lately, I want you to do something. He said, " go to the pharmacy and buy a Johnson and Johnson Rectal thermometer. Now go home and get yourself alone like up in the bedroom and close the door." "Open the package, take out the thermo and set it aside, now get the instructions out and read it carefully."

It will say, " Thank you for purchasing your new J and J thermo. Each one is individually tested to ensure accuracy...."
Just think about that poor S O B the next time YOU think you have it rough and have a shiddy job to do every day!!!!

LMAO, I just realized the irony of my present situation and the discussion veering into Death Valley and neighboring desert areas with pics included.

I am sitting here trying to relax some and put my mind right so I can go trudge in the rain and muddy hand dug basement to somehow shove the old water heater up and out into the rain soaked yard. Then I need to go to the store to buy a new one and some bags of concrete or some other manner of structure to set the new water heater on instead of just bricks or boards etc on the mud floor down there. Can anyone tell I am not thrilled about the conditions or nature of this fun filled job?

Of course the heater couldn't have ruptured last week when it was 60+ degrees and sunny
