This was one "option" for a motel......somewhere in South Dakota..........I couldnt WALK across the parking lot as it was a frozen sheet of ice......

so instead I got to play with the 4 wheel drive and turn the rig around in SNOW............about 5 miles down the road at a different Motel.

Kansas City was fun..........I yelled GO BUCS during the playoff game for the Chiefs ---- the other Pizza Shoppe Patrons were not amused.

I told you to go immediately south. You could have missed all of that snow. Nobody in their right mind willingly drives across Montana and the Dakotas in January. There's always gonna be snow. And wind. And road closures. It's an easy drive SOUTH across Wyoming and then you are in toasty Colorado. It's all tacos, bbq and cajun from there on home.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota,
Saint Paul Minnesota.
Maybe Amarillo, maybe Guam, maybe Argentina, maybe someplace calm?
Maybe back home to get some money from Mom.
Maybe back to Los Gatos, to see if Carrol's still around?
Not seeking a fortune, just got to keep that hammer down.

Gas food lodging and a shower.
Some odd miles in an hour...
 
I flew to Denver. ....then took a plane damn near as old as me to Billings Mo.
Picked up the rig in post 72.

drove South through Wyoming.....into South Dakota -- hid from the snow in MURDO SD. then followed the Semis (using them as ICE BREAKERS) through to Sioux falls and then turned south ...stayed in Kansas City---went through ( a very "hairy" mountain run through the OZARK MOUNTAINS due to a rerouting by google because of a road closure (overturned semi) Mo (the semis and me -- on 2 lane Mountain roads--- with nary a guardrail in sight that was FUN :rolleyes:) --- got stuck in Memphis in rush hour traffic --- stayed in Tupelo because the weather alarms for TORNADO WARNING were going off -- wind and DRIVING rain----(that same system spawned a tornado just East in Alabama the same night killing 1person ) ----- pushed on to MOBILE AL. the last "road night" and visited my Mum -- and some friends -- even snuck up on @ScruffyHeadedNerfHerder in his "natural habitat".......then woke early wed and made the final push (through pouring rain and road flooding in Tallahassee including 8 cars in all on wed in ditches--- off the road in trees or upside down in medians) to my home swamp----


Our Companies owner bought the truck and trailer (its a specialized thermo plastic heating unit and the center area with ramps holds the machines that apply the thermoplastic to the road ways. .....we only had 1 employee who has ever lived or worked or driven in SNOW --- (me)
ALSO only had one with a clean enough driving record to get insured for the trip
AND was expendable if they didnt make it back alive .......
---I was also the employee voted least likey to PAWN THE WHOLE RIG FOR DOPE $$$ on the way home..................................(not kidding)

so--- even with my MASSIVE AVERSION to going OUT of Florida ...............I embarked on the HELLS FROZEN national tour -----(Eagles all ready used Hells Frozen Over -- adn GOD FORBID I give DON HENLEY any EXCUSE TO SUE ME! --that guys an ass)

I swear Im gone a WEEK and NORM buys a NON GODIN---
I drove through Ice wind sleet snow -- torrential rains -- a tornado -- and ...................................NORM BUYS A CUSTOM .....NON GODIN..... FLAME TOP ( :eek: ) ......(wait for it) TELECASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
