I'm just saying in an emergency they can. Not saying I want to. Again, it sure beats the Gimli glider... can only glide so long in a large jet aircraft. Having 1 dead engine at least gives a chance.

Yes and a 747 has 4 engines. So it can lose one and function reasonably. That was the point

There was also the quote of 1 engine out 3 working on the same post? I figured it was refereing to that as that was a later post specifically about the 747.
I also was not referring to a 747 in the one engine post. I said "many"...
One out, 3 working was the point entirely. One engine failure.
