When did you

First guitar was 1973. Yamaha 12 string. Followed in 1974 with the Ovation acoustic. 1973 I was 19. Did not make a religion out of playing till about 2005 when I started playing on my churches worship band. See what I did there…… ;)

Up to that point it was pretty hit and miss. There was a period of about four years when my youngest confiscated the Ovation and took it with him to college. I had to repossess it for worship band.

Being on worship band forced me to practice. I got better. I still suck…. But I can do things today I could not do pre 2005.

Guess I should add. Got my first electric in 09. The G400. I’ve added three more since then.

Bought my first POS SG copy in a NJ mall store in 1975 while in college. It was a cheap entertainment item for a poor college kid. Like others there were many gaps in playing since then.
You have to be more specific. NJ has more malls per square mile than the entire US combined.

I was a student at Drexel, 34th and Market street in Philly. I took the EL across the Ben Franklin bridge into Camden. No clue on which mall. I think I paid $79 for it. I had it for the longest time, even refinished it to a white rattle can job. No clue where I lost it along the way since.

I want you to know that I'm seriously impressed with you folks who went and got a college education. I often wonder where i would be today had i the presence of mind to do the same.
