Several of us here have retired in recent years. Most seem to be enjoying it. As for myself. My last day was two years ago. I haven’t for one minute missed it since retiring.

Hope the best for you and that you find something that works out if you aren’t ready for that new chapter.

I left the music biz to raise my two daughters that I was awarded custody of, I bought a office supply store that I rand for almost eight years and after I discovered there was big money in high end office furniture I opened a business that focused on design, procurement and installation of executive offices , reception, conference and call centers. I did very well with that venture and semi retired at 55 and officially at 62. I still play now and again.
 
I was a prototype machinist for almost 30 years. Did all sorts of crazy stuff including making replica parts for restorations of vintage motorcycles and sports cars such as Indian, Vincent, Harley, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and others. My parts fooled Pebble Beach Concourse and Cavalino judges for originality. Went on to five plus axis CNC machines, and eventually a shop foreman. Jumped ship to CNC installation and repair. Stress level dropped 100%, and pay went up significantly. Now, my cell phone is my office. If I don’t want to hear from the office, I turn the ringer off.
 
Radio, film, broadcast tv, location sound, ENG / EFP cameraman, TV commercial writer/director. Production Manager. Ad sales. Bought a small community newspaper ran that for a decade as editor, reporter, ad sales, graphic design. Worked in a sign shop as production manager briefly, then back to ad sales, print and digital for 5 years. Last real job: Auto Service Advisor but got moved into to sales at the local KIA dealer. Covid got me laid off (thank God) so I decided to see if I could make the artisan thing work from home... I love being in my shop, lonely sometimes... not getting rich, but my creative itch gets scratched real good and that keeps me sane. Hope to do this for another ten years or more if I can, building my little brand.

Manufacturing cost accountant.
I've worked for my family's businesses and for other companies.
Had my own little manufacturing business that went under when we lost a major customer.
Been doing consulting for about the past six months for a company that just got sold to a competitor.
My last day was today.
All good, the competitor just hired me to be the controller for the newly combined companies.
Start that job Monday. :yesway:
