Mine was the Fender Squire Afinitti Strat. My first instrument to learn with. It was a very descent guitar and for the money 9 years ago. You would be hard pressed to beat that guitar for quality and price $269.00. Not only that, it included the 10G amp , guitar strap and a few other goodies. I no longer have it , I sold it to a buddy, and to this day continues to play it as his main electric..

Wasnt mine but my Fathers 1968 Gibson cherry red ES-335.Prolly still my favorite model guitar. My Dad was a Tele,Twin Reverb man but he would always drag another guitar home to play. I was like 9 or 10 when he started me playin rythum while he played his leads :) I wanted to go play like all the other kids lol. After 2 or 3 years i hated it.Didnt pick up a guitar for 20 years. Then picked one up and started playing :)

Mine was a Global brand sort of SG copy thing that came from Montgomery Ward, along with the attendant truly terrible Global amp. It was an utter POS but I played it non-stop. Luckily it wasn't for too long though - I got my first proper guitar (a '77 LPC) less than a year later.

Sixth grade. I thought I wanted to play trumpet. Band director suggested trombone. We went trombone and happy we did. As time went on, both my boys played trombone as does my oldest granddaughter. And shes the best of all of us. Plays in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Fast forward several years and my first guitar was a 12 string Yamaha acoustic.

I started with violin in first grade. Tried cello for a while. Before I played violin, I had a cheap Melodica similar to the photo, and a couple of harmonicas. Ironically, with all the musical instrument type toys my parents would buy when I was really young, they always thought that my requests to play guitar would be a passing fad, and I'd lose interest. It was the one musical instrument they were never supportive with.
