Alrighty then….more bits and bobs ordered for this knaughty bastard….once the crap finish is done, I should be stocked for hardware.

I’m pretty sure I will do some half-assed shielding job too…gotta hit the garden shop though. ;)

Dollar Tree has rolls of adhesive backed, .015" aluminum tape, if you want to keep costs low.
 
You know, a few years ago, I put one together from a Warmoth kit for a guy that I record with.. I stained it with a rosewood stain, repeatedly, then oiled it with boiled linseed oil and it really took on a rosewood look. Very George Harrison-esque.

Was the body wood: pine?
Did the wood still feel like wood?
Did it give the wood a certain degree of sheen or luster to it?
Was the sheen even throughout the whole body?

I ask because I'm in the middle of a project that involves applying a Tru-Oil finish over a 1x12 cabinet made of pine. I ran out of the Tru-Oil midway and need more of it to finish the cabinet. Since I live in Crazyfornia, Tru-Oil is verboten! But Tru-Oil's main ingredient is boiled linseed oil, but the rest of its ingredients is proprietary and classified info.
