Looks like I’m gonna be playing with a Tele project...

First thing you should do is shield the insides. This seems to have a cutout for the dummy coil?
I believe that might be hidden under the pick guard?
I like shielding paint and copper foil. But there's a paint that has nickle like mu metal built in, i think that might be better.

The Tele thing now is like SkyNet and Judgement Day from the Terminator movies: you can try to stop it, you might even delay it, but in time it will ultimately win because its inevitable. You stalling from owning one is just that: stalling. You too will ultimately fall victim to it lmao

That cutout is a wiring rout. This body maker routs a channel that way…it will be under a pickguard.
