I really like these, no weight relief, ABR bridge & aluminum stop bar, slim neck etc, maybe one will miraculously turn up in the mailbox, though I cant see it happening, so, I'll have to wait for them to hit the stores here in Oz & get out & play em to find mine. Then I'll have all my guitar needs covered,,, er,, for the time being. Cheers

ivanH do you have access to Godin guitars in your area. They have a Gold coloured Summit arch body, looks very similar to the Gibson that is shown in your picture. They are light, they have a slim neck look great and come with P90s . The quality of the build is top notch, and they cost less. There is also the Godin Core CT which I purchased just over a week ago, it has P90s, Great tones from both these guitars. I encourage you to just try one of these axes if you have the opportunity.

Those P90 loaded goldtops sure are pure beauty to the eyes as well as the ears.

I'll have a look for a dealer here, thanks for the heads up. Cheers

IMG_7499.JPG For so many years I was thrilled with the range of humbuckers and still loved the Stratocaster snips and snaps. I really had little time with the P90s, I asked one of the people that I looked up to and asked what is the difference between humbuckers and P90s? He said about $30.00 bucks. He didn't know much either. That coil snap with a bunch of range that sails to the far away back wall. Not my guitar, only a photo I stole.

Ok, I checked out Godin Australia & found a dealer roughly in the same locality that I'll be looking at the Gibson Classics so I'll definitely be checking the Godin's out. The online catalogue didn't show the Core CT, but did show this Summit Classic Gold as being in stock

A fine looking instrument for sure. I'll list my findings from comparing the info given on the two. Starting with the Gibson Classic, it is
3 1/3 hundred buck dearer, has a solid, non weight relieved body, the "2 volume, 2 tone" controls that I prefer, nitrocellulose finish, rosewood fingerboard & comes with a hardcase.

The Godin Summit Classic is of course, 3 1/3 hundred bucks cheaper, has a chambered body, a "master volume & tone" controls (which is the only feature of my 2 humbucker Jackson Soloist that I would change), finish not mentioned so I imagine poly, richlite fingerboard & comes with a gig bag.
So, I do favour the Gibson as it has features I personally prefer (& the cost of a new hard case for the Godin would even the price difference up somewhat), but I will definitely be checking the Godin out. You never know, I might like it most after playing both. Thanks again for the heads up. Cheers
