What makes a song great

One of my favorite Artists and sick tone Gods, Robin Trower

I love this song the most of his. If anyone has insight on his Axe and Rig, not to mention what is that Bass, It definitely has THAT thump. I am suspecting Robin is using his Strat and it sure sounds like a GIBSON EB bass through an Ampeg rig like in the Bridge of Sighs Live clip I found.
Although, it is entirely possible it is a P bass as I have seen him play as well.

That’s a great album. I saw him in a small venue maybe 20 years ago. Sat about 20 feet from where he was playing. No clue remembering his rig though....

My dead friend Duffy was a stage hand for Robin for 15 years I got to talk on the phone a few times with Robin nice guy I would play my rig on the phone told me what guitar amp and effects
every time he said the only thing missing was the VOX Wah. I love playing Trower songs and know how to get his sound.
