What Killed Rock Music ???

Cough....Chris...cough....Cornell...cough...

Always so negative Robert...

I'm sorry...really I am. I'm not from this time period. I can't listen to the radio. It's either people talking - which I have no interest in - or its uninteresting/uninspiring music and it literally enraged me. I have to insulate myself from this through a battery of CD's.

Meh.here has never been a greater variety of new, interesting rock music (not to mention music in general) than there is today, or easier access to it. Their logic is flawed, and there is no less "blues influence" in rock today than there was years ago, but there are a lot more types of rock and a lot more outlets for it. These dudes clearly just stopped listening and dismiss whatever they don't know, and make the mistake of asserting that anything that doesn't fit their narrow idea of what defines rock is inferior. They just sounds like a couple of guys who haven't kept up with the times yelling at the kids to get off their lawns.

Classic rock is fine, I love a lot of it. But for chrissakes, great music didn't stop getting made in the early '90's, and not all great music has to stem from the f-ing tired old boring blues.

it was really a retorical question with a side of sarcasm------ but keep pitching ;)

The 90's actually was CHOCK FULL of this kinda thing

as bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden and Megadeath (not to mention Motorhead still killing it) and others where REALLY full stride on.......

it wasnt till the 00's that GRUNGE was popular enough to be "mainstream" and OVERDONE--
