What is Your Favorite Piece of Album Cover Art???

Art is sometimes hard to understand, so we'll leave it at that.

Most covers with pictures of members of the band don't mean much, and there are tons of those. For me the purpose of art cover is mainly to catch the eye. This can be done in a myriad of ways. And then, the concept of personal taste comes in and throws any discussion away.

What I didn't know at the time was that the artist, Gottfried Helnwein, also did this:

and that the dude is seriously twisted. I took Boulevard of Broken Dreams to be sappy sentimentality, but as I checked out Helnwein's other work, I realized how wrong I was.

But that is clearly supposed to be funny. I really like the ones that are made in earnest, but get it so wrong.

I'm really not intending to go for a religious bash here, but when you google embarrassing album art, this stuff is all that comes up.

If you google it, it's funny how many religious singers actually used muppets. Creepy!
