What Is He Thinking??? (NGD)

This. Is correct.
I have 2 gibbies that set in a rack case, the 2 I like to grab and play the most.
They are in the garage, so dust spiders and everything else likes to make them home.
Hot days, cold days, rainy days.
In the winter sharp (even the ones in their cases) this is only the hard tail Gibson’s.
The fenders. May lose a bit but not on a daily basis.
I have only the same explanation as I have said before on this matter dry heat shrinks wood.
Moisture makes wood swell!

I've had very little seasonal variance in my guitars over the decades. They hold their tune well and most seldom need adjustments. I credit humidity for that, and consistency in string gauge - .010s for decades. But mostly consistent humidity. Ever since the 70s I've kept a slightly damp sponge in each of my cases, replenishing it when necessary - usually every couple of months, sometimes a bit more often in hot weather for cases that are often opened.

That said, I don't even remember the last time I played outdoors in hot sunlight so I can't comment on whether that mitigates the effects of direct heat. When I did often play outdoor gigs, I had a stage tech tuning my guitars when I switched after every couple of songs. It never occurred to me to ask if they were wonky in the sun.

I did once make the stupid mistake of leaving a couple of acoustics in (non-climate-controlled) storage for more than ten years. That was a disaster, and 100% preventable.
I now keep all acoustic guitars at home where the temps are pretty consistent and I can keep them from drying out too badly.

Going to load these pickups into it. They are 2004 GFS's - a 13.5k double slug and two hum cancelling single coils, 10k and 7k. Wire harness modified for bridge tone control.
