iI really don't understand how someone can play 7's.
For some reasons I keep my strats loaded with 9's and it feels like cooked spaghetti to me.

I don't understand why you want to work so hard. Some get tone comes from very light strings. ZZ Top and BB King told Billy Gibons not to work so hard. I am plain flat lucky I found 8s years back. I do the light strings for a medical reason. Now 7s get me on stage to play a little more. I no longer have the strength in my hands. The people I work with did not know I went from 10s to 7s over a time of 4 years. My tone is the same and my solos are to stand up for. My bass player picked up my guitar and she said you have something on your strings! No it's just new strings babe. She lives will me and never knew. As long as the place is full, that is what matters. I buy strings for a 12 string that comes in 9s and put them on my Martin D28 and it still roars. I don't miss 10s or 12s or other stuff that makes it hard to play.
I thought I liked the Elixir coated strings for about a minute...then they became the strings I like least.
My current favorites are Gibson Vintage Reissue 10's and I even have a set of 11's on my only Les Paul...
I also thought I liked those Rev Willy 7's and 8's but the love affair faded fast...
I don't like expensive strings. I like D'addario the best and if I don't use those I use MusicainsFriend strings (for electric).
Playing 7's is like eating Angel Hair instead of real spaghetti...just sayin'
HEre is your chance -- convert me-- I have tried regular and slinky and super slinky and metal and .........I think that is it ---
what EB string is worth the price of admission as for me those wherent ........
I believe it is, but dude, doesn't the geetar buzz like crazy? And how do you manage to controll the strings, holding them from doodling around and giving you awful feedback whenever you bend or let go of a string?
I don't care for them either. The tension feels uneven or something. GHS Boomers for me, on all my guitars.
Same reasons I like Dean Markley, and EB.Hmmmm....I must be missing this anomaly. I use the EB's mostly because they really seem to last, stretch in super quick and resist rust....
