What Fuzz you have so far?

The minute I realized what I had , transistor wise, I went on ebay and bought a bunch of 0C81D's and of course this was many years ago! ... as it's a simple pedal to build w/ old parts BUT the secret lies in the proper placement, gain wise, of the 3 transistors, well, and contrary to a lot of opinions Capacitors do make a LOT of difference

Yes, getting the transistors of the right hfe & leakage in the right position is something I'm well aware of, having built mk1 (very time consuming to get right), mk1.5 (not yet in enclosure), mk2 & Baldwin Burns Buzzaround. I also have another mk2, also with OC75's together on a "test" board & a mk4, also with OC75's. I might do a bit of experimenting with caps on these two as I haven't done this before, thanks for the tip.
I notice you like the Vox wah. I have a cry baby (Zak Wylde) that I got from a hock shop. Was terrible. I changed the 2 caps to bring it to stock cry baby, removed the buffer & tried all the recommended mods, couldn't get it to where I was totally happy. Then I changed the transistors out for NOS types as called for in the original Vox patent, hfe 260 & 400. Bam, instantly infinitely better. Should have done that mod first. Cheers
