It was! Worked for myself, managed my own time, got to work with some great musicians (and some real pretty singers), had a home studio with all kinds of expensive gear. It was a gas.

No sir. All original. I would never desecrate a great - or simply copyrighted - song by subjugating it to an advertisement. I did a lot of jingles, but just as many instrumental or “sound designed” tracks for ads.

Yeah, I know. When I head “Golden Slumbers” used for AirB&B recently, I mourned the selling of my youth to the highest soulless bidder.
I was a copywriter/creative lead for ad agencies for 15 years before going into music full time, so I know these ad types well. Like Steely Dan’s Show Biz Kids, they don’t give a f**k about anybody else.

I'm on service connected disability for reasons I don't want to get into now, some of you know. I still work part time from home as a structural draftsman drawing building plans in auto-cad for the structural engineer I've been working with for the last 20 years.

I've had many careers. I was a logger, owned several small businesses. IT consultant managing email servers and networks, semi retired, got bored so now I work at Home Depot. At 71 I have no plans to retire. Medical issues may force me to but for now I enjoy being out with the public.

My wife didn't wait until retirement. She made sure she had a direct pipeline to the cat distribution system years ago.
I've been a field tech for an OEM CNC machine tool builder since 2008. I do installations and repairs of mostly five axis CNC milling machines with robots, pallet loaders, and other automation. Before that I was a prototype machinist for almost thirty years. Looking to get out once and for all a year from April.
I am a carpenter, so any time of the year I am semi retired, because of work schedules.
But I still try to make the bills payable, and I can’t do a lot of the things I used to do in my youth.
