TBH, I wanted to like these when they came out but a 'bird with humbuckers is just wrong IMO. Don't let that dissuade you if it's your thing, they are gorgeous and rare and I would love to have one from a collector standpoint, but if it's Firebird tone you are searching for I think you will be disappointed.

If it gives you the Elliot Easton in The Cars sound then I say yes. Not so keen on the Elliot Easton in the video sound.

Thunderbirds are so very cool! I a Limited Edition TV blue. I put the proper mint bucks in it. Looks great and sounds like a killer. I tried to play it on stage and I felt like I grew a tail. They are clumsy guitars to deal with.

They are awkward. The first fret feels a mile away, even further than the SG.

Oh yeah, sell me that Les Paul !!

That is my 2014 Studio in a Honey Burst. Stock except for locking tuners and a roller bridge. That LP gets a lot of work. Pups are both 490s and Ray they are wonderful.

Those Les Paul’s are lovely. Wish I bought one back in about 2010 when I had the chance. Of course it was the version with P90’s then but still a lovely finish on those guits!

The Studio I can sell but the Standard I can't sell.

Roller Bridge! Excellent! I prefer them over the "blade" style saddles. Easier/faster to intonate and no string breakage.
