What do Ya think?

I fine tuned mine ---- when first arrived battery was dead --- I tuned it up and played while waiting for the battery to charge......as stated...slowly--- not using a peg winder...

Maybe the next best thing since sliced bread to some.
I see it as an over complication. A solution to a contrived problem.
Maybe a limbless guitar player would truly benefit greatly from it.
Like darker dark glasses for blind fighter pilots and neurosurgeons.

I am not at a disadvantage using a pedal or clip on tuner.
I cannot reliably tune open A by ear, but once I have that I can get very close by ear using the 5th fret (4th on G for B) method.

Some times my clip on tuners are flakey and I cant get a good read on open low e, so if I get impatient I'll tune it to A at 5.

If the Robos are reliabe I can see the value of changing tunings quickly, say between songs gigging.
But I dont tune back and forth between tunings because I break hi e strings.

DAT's what I think!

Locking tuners are fantastic. I thought just for making changing strings easy but more tuning stability. Regular tuners you have a wrap around the peg. Age, bends and tremolo bars unwrap the strings. Tuning is a on going task and I hate to look up and see I'm out of tune. I have locking tuners on all the guitars I play a lot. The guitars I don't play, they can be out of tune and I won't know. I avoided 2015 Les Paul's because of the auto tune. I have a 2014 and the other is not a 2015 but another year. I really don't know and I don't care so I can just say ok but it stays in tune.
I have been putting brass nuts and roller nut on them and that makes a very stable guitar. Now tighten the nut up behind the pick and you have it.

I wipe my guitar down every time when done, including pinch wiping the strings and store anything that is not in a case under a dust cover (old sheet or whatever).
I watch for accumulating dust around tuners and pick ups, bridge, etc.
I have a soft nylon bristled 2" paint brush in my guitar tech kit and dust them off as needed.

I thought I was just meticulous and just take good care of my stuff.

Reading my post above, I'll cop to some neat freakish OCD.
So be it.

And I wash my hands thoroughly before handling my gear to get the skin oils off.
I think I take better care of my stuff than I do myself.

The best thing for your guitar especially if some one else even breathed on it or it was close to a public toilet is full debugging. Toss a bucket of boiling water on it and then Lysine and Lysol bath. I inject a strong penicillin solution in the wiring and under pick guard. I never let a woman touch it because they have those hard to reach places. The could be loaded with??? and who would know? Certainly not me. You have insurance on it? Set it on fire, damn thing is just waiting to give you the Black Death any way. To your health! IMG_7599.JPGIMG_7577.JPG

I do the same thing to myself! What the hell I have the air compressor on and the hazmat suit needs soaked in alkaline.
