Thanks Mike. I had trouble digging up much when I googledThey are indeed "West" amps, specifically West Fillmore 200s. Company started out in Flint, MI and later moved to Lansing,MI by builder David West. They were actually starter kits from Dynaco that he would mod and tweak a lot, based heavily on Sunn Coliseum PA head that Leslie West famously used. Both Mel and Mark used these on the first four albums

Pretty massive transformers! At that time, one of the only ones that could really stand up to sheer abuse and increased wattage mods. There were others of course, but Dynaco started building a reputation for having all the beef to power these monster amps that began popping up in the late 60s and early 70s. Pretty legendary and awesome in my opinionWOW, I knew folks who built Dynaco's before I began learning about amps/electronics etc. from some of our members here, books and videos
