You got it! The G string is a Fender Bullet string that was a bit short to reach the tuning post so I had to string it straight through. Same with the E string.
Started off the evening with my bass. Hadn't played it in a bit as I have been doing some updates on it. New tuners. New bridge. New pups. While I had all that stuff off, I copper shielded everything. Made sure everything was properly grounded. With both pots dimed, the thing is dead silent. No buzz. No 60 cycle hum. And in headphones, new pups sound great. Now to plug it into my kids 400w bass amp and rock and roll. Shake some windows.
Moving on thought I'd play the Viking a bit.... but while it sounded good and was nice to play. Wasn't doing it for me.
So break out the G400. Yep. That's what was needed. That thing just rocks out. And does sound much better doing Hey Hey My My by our favorite Canadian.
Been awhile since I've plugged into an amp. So first little bit was getting things dialed in again. I think little grandkid hands did some tweaking on knobs when I wasn't looking. And then doing the same with my pedal board. Was good to here the Ole Traynor being used in anger. Still sounds pretty good for a 50+ year old amp. And I didn't even crank it up. Amp on 3. Guitar on 2-3. Not home alone.... if y'all know what I mean.
