What are you playing today

Mostly playing bass the last couple days. I’m writing a funky bass line that avoids playing at the same beat as the snare (a funk rule of thumb) and lands hard on the one (from the James Brown funk Bible). I haven’t played bass seriously in years, so getting the feel right is both imperative and difficult. But I got my Ibanez bass dialed in so it’s fun to play.IMG_1154.jpeg

My bass is an Ibanez PJ. Yours is way prettier. Mines solid black.

I got it brand new in the original packaging for $300. Factory set up was atrocious, but it’s really sweet now.
Bought mine in 93. About the same price as yours. There was a really pretty red one hanging beside it. Same model. But brand new had some checking in the finish. I know that doesn’t affect anything other than looks….. but….. the black one came home with me.

And considering I have never really played it much until this past year…. Happy I didn’t drop big dollars on it when I bought it.

All the bragging on SG's over the past week, I've been wanting to break out my G400. Finally accomplished that today. And if I may say so myself, said guitar was in a rockin' mood today. Sounding fine..... the guitar.... I still suck playing it. :pound-hand:

My wife bought me a new ukulele. It's a James Hill Signature model. James is a Canadian ukulele virtuoso and teacher. We use some of his teaching methods to teach beginner ukulele to seniors.

We were in Kauai several years ago. On our way back to the airport to come home we stopped in a little mom and pop Uke store. All handmade by the owners. Still kicking myself for not buying one at that time. If we ever get back. Won’t make that mistake again.
