What are you listening to, metal edition.

That guitar is the least of my worries here, he could be playing the coolest V ever and it would still make me queasy.
I don’t know……. John 5 does a pretty good job thrashing a Tele. ;) :pound-hand:

Yeah, plenty of Teles in metal. They wouldn't be my first choice either, but that doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't lol
Jim Root, Joe Duplantier, just to name a couple

First time I saw a video or photo of John 5, I was like…. Yikes!!!

Then I started learning more about him. He’s a very interesting individual and can pretty much play any genre on a guitar.

I was willing to listen but as soon as I saw that…. i was like… nope ….. I cant do this….

John 5 has very bad sense of fashion and I don’t expect much difference choosing the guitar….

(My opinion)

Yeah. Fashion sense is questionable for sure. As for his choice of guitar. I did read once why a Tele. Just not remembering right now what that was.

True metal gives zerö fücks which guitar, so long as it can be made to sonically FSU...I'm terribly sorry for what I'm about to do to you...but........

:ROFLMAO:

Guitar tone is something that either pulls me into the song or repulses me almost immediately. If I am not "turned on" by a song in the first 15 seconds, I will never listen to it in its entirety.

Our band once asked me to play some songs that "everyone grew up listening too and everyone knows by heart." They were shocked when they learned I had never listened to certain "classics" all the way through, so in fact, when they asked me to learn these 60'/70's songs in 2020, I was literally hearing them for the very first time.

To this day, I have never listened to a complete song by The Who. I've tried a few times, but just couldn't bear the sonic boredom...and there are many more like this.

Now, on the other hand, this gem is an exception. The drums engage immediately and the guitar tone is simply phenomenal.
