Actually, yes. Very much so.

I'm not strictly a fan of only their fastest or their heaviest music, but a fan of all that is interesting and/or dark. I actually kinda think some of their earlier "heavy" stuff, songs like Blood and Thunder, are predictable, and pretty mediocre...but then again, my personal definition of what makes a song "heavy", isn't probably what many people would think "heavy" is.

This latest release is all kinds of interesting...they have managed to evolve appropriately and reinvent themselves yet again, while retaining all the things that put that certain Mastodon signature on everything they do.

All in all, I'm pretty thrilled with what they've put together this time around.
