What Are You Doing Right Now?

Customer service does still exist. We are buying a new range. Old range is 30”. New range is 30”. Except old range where it slipped into counter was just a bit over 29. New range is a legit 30. Cutout needed widened by about 3/4”. That happened today.

Customer service part. We hung sheets around the kitchen to try a tent it off to keep as much granite dust out of the rest of the house as possible. That worked pretty well. But we knew kitchen would be a pile of dust. Nope. Company that did the work has a policy to leave the job site cleaner than when they walked it. Mission accomplished. And surprising a business still feels that way.

And now dying a fretboard.

I didn’t dye the ebony board on my Ovation. But I did oil it. And boy did that make a difference. Darkened it nicely. Now…. I have to admit, dummy me was unaware Ebony and rosewood need cleaned and oiled every now and then. Let’s just say. In the decades I’d owned the Ovation, I’d cleaned it many times…. I had never oiled it. Duh!!!

Just replaced my recently failed studio computer/home theater hub…

Nothing fancy, but the laptop only has 2 USB-C ports. This box lets me run two more external screens(one is, often, a projector), hardwire to Ethernet, run the control surface(USB midi), USB mixer, DVD/Blu-ray drive, external drives, Kemper, and E-drum kit.
The old one lasted 5 years, and just gave up. Where the old one had a (kinda useless) VGA output, the new one has a SD card reader. I may have to start playing with my little old Zoom H2 more often ;) .
Tonight went smoothly. Last night, when the old hub threw up the white flag, was not as smooth. I do have a mini version that works, but not as smoothly. It only does one external monitor, and the Ethernet connection is a fail…Ethernet connection does work well for streaming the important stuff…like…HOCKEY!

You are hereby absolved of any/all repercussions for using/abusing bad words. :)

I appreciate your grace , good sir.

Funny story: I wear a smart watch while I'm at school, and on a normal day I'll get between 7k and 9k steps....
Yesterday I didnt get out of my office at all because my back hurt so bad to walk! I logged 747 steps before I called it a day and just came home.
I took a picture of my steps and sent it to my family and friends that read "this is how many times I said the F word today."

Customer service part 2.

Don't remember exact time, but nearly 20 years ago we purchased a 5.5qt Le Creuset Dutch Oven. We use it a lot. Last week discovered a chip in the interior enamel. Not really supposed to cook with it anymore with chipped enamel. So I did some research. Discovered Le Creuset has a "Limited Lifetime" warranty on their products. Figured what the heck. Contacted them. Sent photos. Didn't need to provide an invoice when we bought it or where we bought it from. Just took my word for it. New Dutch Oven showed up via UPS a few minutes ago. No cost. No shipping cost. Moral of the story. Sometimes it pays to spend a little more up front for a product.
