Sitting in a hotel room surfing TGG and drinking a can of Bitburger Pils. I'm away from home installing a machine with new automation, and working with a Gent from one of our factories in Germany. I wish I brought a guitar with me. Looking at the past month or so on the calendar, I don't think I touched a guitar since before I left for Germany on April 20. I saw the Bevis Frond in Hamburg and Frankfurt, and managed to bury some of my mother's ashes in our home village while I was there. It was a very rushed trip, and I wish that I could have stayed longer. Having only a few days in Mainz was too much of a tease, and wished I could have spent more time with family while I was there.
When I got back, my best friend who lives in Minneapolis was at my house, and was there the next ten or eleven days. I wished I could have taken more time off while he was here, but he also had his own agenda while here, so didn't really need to. Otherwise, I've been slammed at work, but did see some great bands over the past three weeks. The highlight being the Nuggets 50th Anniversary Celebration with Lenny Kaye at the The Cut in Gloucester. I got to meet Lenny the night before the show at a meet and greet, rehearsal, and book signing. It was a great night.
Still also dealing with trying to reach people regarding medical bills for my mother before her death. Everyone is ghosting me, and being total bureaucratic buffoons.
I'm trying to find some spare time for me, and dealing with my own issues. It's been tough, but I have a very dark sense of humor which actually helps quite a bit. I can't wait to get home Friday night, and plug in a guitar. I'm also on vacation, but it will be spent mostly cleaning up my mother's house and getting it ready to sell. And meeting with the lawyer, and dealing with my own health issues. At this point, I just can't wait to play a guitar again.
