What Are You Doing Right Now?

Working on some killer songs!
Got a show in a month.

Last night I took my other guitarist down to Mesa and we saw Flotsam and Jetsam.
opening acts
Lost Dutchman (doomy sludge)
Perpetual (suicidal tendencies thing)
Empire of Dezire (chick singer with some pipes!)

I liked lost Dutchman quite a bit, kind of a crowbar vibe. Orange amp.

Disliked perpetual, Mesa recto scooped as far as it would go.

Liked Empire, also Mesa rectos but sounded a little better, they looked like they had Dime, Zakk Wylde, a female Ronnie James Dio, and the bassist was a ringer for the actor Jeff Bridges!

Flotsam kicked ass! Steve and Mike were playing Kempers. Tone was great. Those guys played a million notes and not a single flub, mis-picked note the whole night. I stood right in front of Mike and couldn't hear much of the rest of the band, it it's all good, guitars were all I was there to watch anyway.

I grabbed video of the first song (Hammerheads) and then put my phone away to just enjoy the show. It was great to see these old timers still handing it out!

That was a complete kick ass jam.

After spending the past couple of days in Hamburg and seeing the Bevis Frond at Club Logo, I took the train to Frankfurt today. Spent the evening with a couple of cousins and am now in Mainz sitting in the hotel bar drinking a proper Pils and relaxing.
Tomorrow night the Bevis Frond will be at Nachtleben in Frankfurt. They‘ll let me in early for the soundcheck.
Thursday, I‘m burying the small urn of my mum’s ashes in our home town. I have a nice spot picked out overlooking a cousin’s house. It has a nice westerly view of the Nahe River valley, her old house, and part of the village.
