What Are You Doing Right Now?

Are you trying to get off the grid Don?
No, just working on reducing my electric bill. On our previous home we installed 36 panels and had no electric bills for 12 years. The system paid for itself in 4 years and that was with rates at 12 to 18 cents per kWh from the Anaheim public utilities. Now we are on SoCal Edison rates which are sky high. With just 3 panels I averaged 5 kWh per day (these are panels I brought from the previous home). I had room for a 4th, so another Black Friday deal, I added the 4th one.

So how long are the panels good for before replacement or repairs, I have heard about 10 years. So is this true?

Well.... My singer left the band after only 2 weeks.
That was a while back, now.
Her words were that our (Christian) content didn't align with her beliefs..... So it was a struggle for her to spit out my lyrics. I get it. No hard feelings with her leaving us, I wish her well.

But!....just last week our little bassist stepped up and declared that she would like to be our full time singer and drop the bass duty.

So.... We picked up the guitarist from her other band as our bassist. She is our little hang around kid, roadie, photog, etc... she already knows all our songs, she plays the bass very well, so we were excited to bring her on board !

Moving onto an even better version of Through The Blood!

Today we had our second practice in this new formation. We got about 5 more songs locked in.
Can't wait to get back up on stage and have some fun!

Good to see you plugging away!

Found out my old drummer passed away of a brain aneurism this morning. We had lost contact as I travelled more for work. We would always go see known or unknown bands after Friday night rehearsals(if we didn't have a gig that night). Pick a club, and go. Can't even think of how many hundreds of local bands we had seen together. I'm just going through old photos of past gigs. We last saw each other a couple of years ago at one of the Alice Cooper tribute shows we did. I kept threatening to call him sometime soon. I regret not picking up the phone, and just calling him. Rock in peace Matt, I'm going to miss him.

Condolences, brother. You just never know. RIP Matt.

Should really be working, but I just bought a vintage Thorens TD150 mk2 turntable and I'm looking at various things to upgrade it. Have an SME 3009 tonearm and a new dustcover on the way. Considering making a new plinth as well, I just need to find a mitre saw I can borrow from someone...

About to do some guitar tech. Time for a restring and general overall cleaning on the Ovation. If I get ambitious, I may fire up the soldering iron and install the new pots I have for my bass.
Did get the guitar cleaned and restrung. Did not work on the bass. Got an issue with the electronics on the Ovation I will need to trouble shoot. Haven’t plugged it in much since retiring from worship team a few years back, so something may just be dirty. Did install new battery so I’m good there.

As for strings…. None of that sissy .009’s and .010’s for this guitar. He-Man string go on it. :celebrate2:

I've got one you could borrow. Might be a bit pricey to send over though. And it's 110 volts, not 220 volts.

The box arrived for the Trainwreck project a couple of days ago. Just drilled all of the holes in the faceplate except the 10mm hole for the pilot light. Deciding what to do about that. Probably 3/8" through, then a round file. In the meantime, listening to Low End Theory rebroadcast on WZBC. We're going out to meet some friends and see some live music shortly.

Low End Theory Wed Jan 10 with DJ Ouroboros on WZBC 90.3 FM Newton
