What are the/your 3 most important pedals?

For guitar: just a tuner then straight into the amp.

For bass: tuner, EHX Batallion DI with built in compressor and distortion, amp.

Some sort of transparent overdrive. RC Booster, Klon, etc.

I would like to squeeze a treble booster in there somehow, as it's my favorite distortion style pedal. Maybe boot the overdrive.

I used to use a Wah a lot but not conventionally I guess you might say. I was on a Schenker roll in my early 20s and would play with a Wah half cocked, ramping up the midrange sound. Pretty fun trick sometimes

For the last 2 years I have been using my SD1 mxr micro chorus DD3.
I used to use a wha to boost the treble with my Explorer, then half cocked it for the Strat , but back then it was the only thing I used,.. with the exception of borrowing an echo plex when I could.

I use the RAT to get me into that fuzz territory. The wah is actually the first pedal I ever owned. A gift from my sister.
Some of the pedals below I swap into the chain occasionally.

Morley Wah
EQ or MXR Badass Distortion, depending on the rig I am using.

How do you like the Joyo band controller? it has very good reviews..is it built tough?

It’s great. Metal housing. The slides feel solid, they have that little bump when you hit unity so you can tell when you are at 0. All the lights can be turned off if need be. There are some reviews that say the lights cause noise but I haven’t noticed any.
It does the job well.
