What’s on ya board

I got an SD-1 from someone for next to nothing. It was modified and sounded very bassy, and, uhm, "transparent", I guess, so I modified it back to have less bass and more mids. Symmetric clipping still, the sound is pretty close to the Maxon OD-9 I had in that spot previously.

I should make some risers so I could get the power supply under the board and arrange the power cabling a bit better. There should be space for at least one more...

Huh, I managed to do it within the same month.

Boss CE-3 takes the extra space vacated by the power supply, it won over CH-1 by having less knobs, and also being able to double as a vibrato of sorts if needed... I could switch to a single foot switch for the amp as I never use the tremolo, then there would be space for yet another one. Just don't feel like I need anything at the moment...

I've also discovered that the Wampler Ego Mini is not toddler pee proof. Thus there is now tape covering the LED, so if there's another accident I don't have to open it up and dry it again...

Just got my first ever pedal board last week. Back in the day when I played live, I only used an OD pedal and that was it. With the Axe FX, I don't really need any pedals, but since I may be returning to jamming with others again soon, I figured I needed to up my pedal game a little. Picked up a Gokko pedal board with carry case for only $25 on the 'Bay and I'm pretty stunned at the quality for so little money. Considered buying a second one for my DSL, as I run an SD1 into that vs the MD-2 into my Jet City, but it's easy enough just to swap the single pedal:

I see you're using socks, I assume, to keep the rubber from reacting with the nitrocellulose and f*ing up the finish on yer Gibson. Smart! Do you know of any wall hangers that are Gibson approved?

Uh, no. I use String Trees, they say they are nitro safe, but I am not taking any chances. The Amber burst down there got a couple of spots melted on the back from a suspect stand with foam rubber supports. I will not tempt fate. A piece of a polishing cloth is a safe bet. I like old socks on stands.

Freshly rearranged and re-cabled…

I was having a lot of problems with signal bleed on the mute pedals. Initially with both, and then a friend fixed some earthing issues with them and it was then only when the mutes were in positions after the input of the MS-3, either in its loops of afterward (in the effects loop of my amps) on the gain channels. A number of things were going on but eventually it became apparent that the only place where I could get it to mute dead quiet was between the wireless receiver and the input of the MS-3, and it didn't seem like there was much point having a latching mute box and a momentary/latching stutter/mute box in the same location, so I kept the latter and removed the former. I use the latching mute when I am waiting to play and not in front of the board, and the momentary switch for when I am just wanting to be quiet for a moment, including tuning between songs.
