WGS Retro 30 and Reaper 30

Anyone got a 4X12 with 2 and 2? Wondering if this would be good for metal, or maybe 4 Reapers. Not a fan of a lot of low mid. Thanx.
I have a Reaper 30, and a Reaper 55Hz(discontinued) in a 2X12 that I currently run on top of a V30 loaded Mesa Recto 4X12. I love them. I’ve gigged the 2X12 dozens of times, under smaller tube heads- 15 to 22 watts -, and it has always been a good set up for hard rock/older metal, and beyond. Like Sabbath, Maiden, Tool, etc.

Yeah, i'm using a Peavey 6505mh. I think i'm gonna just try it out. I don't think i've ever read that someone hated a Reaper 30 or a Retro 30...

Speaking of all these Speakers. What about cabinets?

I have a cab with 4 Speakers in it, but it is MDF. I also have a supply of Cabinet grade woods such as Walnut, Oak, Cherry, Poplar and maybe a few other types. Has anyone ever done any testing or experimenting on making cabinets out of furniture grade wood instead of stuff like Baltic Birch PLywood or MDF etc?

I'm using a Diezel rear loaded straight cab

I own both of the Reaper versions.

Very happy with WGS Reaper's, and if you can find one of the discontinued models @Thatbastarddon mentions I would recommend.

Use them with my Marshall's, and play the typical Classic to Heavier metal rock.

People used to buy WGS based on price, but those are my faves regardless.

Have fun.

I have a 50 watt, WGS Reaper 55Hz. Custom build by Vern Skow, IIRC. Good speaker, but i was surprised that it didn't handle high vume, high gain with high bass and resonance settings better than it did...
