Commuter Rail System
A beautiful Weller soldering station was tied to my gate when I got home from lunch with pops yesterday.
Thanks so much Sysco, It's beautiful.
Looks like new and was packed with care.
Also included were two beer bottle caps. Evidence of a nefarious act no doubt.
I'm thinking that there were two bottles of fine ale with the package, and the postal inspector enjoyed the "post" inspection treat.
Really brings me into the space age as I was still heating irons in open fires to solder on my projects.
Well, OK I wasn't quite that bad off, but this is a huge improvement over my multiple single temp irons.
As a bonus, my old 45 watt iron uses the same tips and I had just bought a bag of em.
I think I'll rip something apart just to try it out.

And on a side note with a rant: It really irks me how expensive it is to ship a small item! Package delivery institutions like USPS, UPS, FEDEX, all have us everyday peons by the huevos...

Hack, I do think he accepted the iron. He mentioned maybe the old cheapy one he had used prior, maybe wasn't up to snuff and he might have better luck with a new one.

I had little to no experience soldering electrical things and struggled a tad with bscks of pots. Some real nice YouTube vids and use of flux and good solder and soldering iron/station made a world of difference in my success and nice connections on pot backs.
If he got a 40 watter, he'll be good to go.
