Welcome Strat Talk folks!

The interface between 10 and 11 will be a learning curve but not too bad. Kind of like moving into a strange new house, stumbling around with the lights off. After you stub your toes a few times, you'll learn your way around.
I’d agree. First couple times I used her laptop it was a little weird. Not so bad now.

I miss XP Pro, it was the best and I'm actually still using it on my work computer because my old CAD version doesn't work on anything newer than XP. I keep it isolated and off line.
Yep. XP was solid.

Have I mentioned I’m old. Our first computer had a C Prompt for the user interface. We graduated to a desktop with Win98. And then the desktop with XP. Then our two laptops, loaded with 10 and 11. Like our cars. We pretty much keep and use a computer till they have nothing left to give. We’ve only owned 5 computers since the first one in the 80s.

Mine was DOS with a green display as well.
Then Win 95, 98, XP, Win 7 and Win 10.
Some got upgrades as I went, of course but not OS.

No win 3.11? No win 2000? No win 8?
Nope. Went straight from an 8086 to a Pentium with Win98. Didn’t buy another computer till the one loaded with XP. About 6 years ago bought the laptop I’m using. Win10. Then after my wife retired from teaching and had to give her school laptop back, we got her a laptop that came with 11.

My first 'puter was a Commodore VIC-20.
I learned programming on it. Made a space shoot 'em up game. 2/3rds of the way through I ran out of RAM (8K) :ROFLMAO:
I then went out and bought a 16K RAM cartridge! That sucker cost me $200! For 16K!!!!
Lol!

Similar here except I used all Windows versions from 3.1 on. A green CRT is torture. Amber was more humane.

I briefly toyed with ME, laughed at its 2000 GUI and moved on. 2000 was the first good version.

Our first was a Tandy 1000. Didn’t do Commodiore or early Apples. Bought a 20mb HD for the Tandy. Thought I’d died and gone to heaven. I’m typing this on a cell phone with a 128gb HD. Pretty amazing stuff.

All of you other S-T-ers - were you that unhappy with the Land of Lonn?
Not really, I've just been hanging with the Gretsch guys at GT. The crowd is smaller, and there aren't any aholes over there.

It seems like every year the nice folks disappear only to be replaced by newbs, and we get the same old strat questions over and over.

Some of my favorite people aren't very active there anymore and quite a few have passed on. I just needed a change. And, I got my first Gretsch last year as part payment for setting up and repairing a guys collection that is a member of the Epi forum that lives a half hour away from me. That was the gateway drug guitar for me for Gretsch. I wound up with six so far this year, a Streamliner, four Electromatics, and a Proline that has been on my bucket list for years.

I posted in the forum yesterday...
something I hadn't done for nearly a month.

Just a thread about it being a wonderful day...just a smiley thing in the body.
It's gone. Not locked, just gone.
WTF is wrong with a fellow in chemotherapy having a good day? We don't get that many so when they happen, It's ...Some Kind Of Wonderful.

And the coward killed it...?
What's with that?
Wow Reed, I haven't been around much for quite awhile. I had no idea that things had gotten so bad over there in my absence.
