You already know my thoughts...

I think that the less we make our arrival here about any one personality, the less pride that personality will be able to derive from our departure.

Bullies are inherently cowards. They find pleasure in causing discomfort, especially if the discomfort they cause affects those who possess what they themselves desperately want, but will never have. In this case, some first call - triple scale session players have been driven off. Taking with them a tremendous resource of knowledge, experience, and a demonstrated willingness to share.

In the end, the bully wasn't the cause, the bully was merely a symptom. Somewhere in that food chain the bosses forgot what the whole thing is all about...
