It’s a 7.1 system. I finished off the basement in this place after we moved in 2020. Started with bare studs. They are Polk audio speakers in the wall, a Bose center speaker and a JBL subwoofer powered by a Denon AVR. After I built it I was surprised how few films are recorded or mastered in 7.1.

Nice job! I know what you mean about 7.1, though. A friend was asking me about Dolby Atmos a while ago. I said: "Check how many movies you actually want to watch that are available in that format before you commit." In a way, it's a bit like our UHD/4K TV. It's great, but nearly everything we watch is up-converted from HD, rather than native Ultra Hi Def.
