I set the TTR software to start a welcome post for every new member. It also sends them an email welcoming them. If they do not replay they are either very shy, a bot or a spammer. I'm hoping to cured their shyness. Otherwise they will be considered to be a bot or spammer and be dealt with accordingly.

In short, WavMixer is dealing with what is causing the slow down of the site. Some of it could have been caused by the upgrades he was trying to provide for us.
Another part was the site was hit with a lot of new members which more than likely are spammers and bots. I believe what were seeing in the Introductions section is
WavMixer is giving these names the benefit of doubt that they are not spammers or bots.

Everyone is being respectful in case these really are new members. So far, they don't appear to be.

I tend to check the new members
deal at the bottom of the forum page and see the new members and if they have posted, pretty much daily. I have seen it climb but not many have actually posted a introduction thread!!
Just curious if I had missed it.

This is 100% correct. The new software was installed mostly because of the site slowdown and several new members that were indeed spammers taxing our server and slowing it down, I'm hoping that the site will be running better now.

Same here ,, I was getting a number of calls telling me someone was using my ss# and I need to verify who I am, or legal action was going to be on me ???

I spent many hours last week fixing my own personal site from being hacked. You can only guess how I feel about them. Last night while I was online here, I saw one of the spammers that I disabled was online here trying to access the site.
