I’ve been working on finishing out a basement for the last year. Have installed around 300 2x4s, 50 2x6s and over 100 sheets of 4x12 5/8 drywall. Bought 2x4s last week and paid $12 each plus tax ! Glad I’m almost done. Going to buy 3 8ft 4x4s today, ouch.
 
My son got a summer job working in a lumberyard, serving customers, loading orders. Man are people angry about wood/drywall prices,
and the yard kids seem to be bearing the brunt of it, so he claims. I told him, it's just words, guys like that are the ones that are really paying for
all this free money floating around

I'm building 2 112 cabinets and spent more for the wood than I did the speakers... yeesh. I can't even imagine a remodel right now.

And, even more fun, we were hoping to buy a house soon, but the new builds in our desired size have gone up close to $100k in the last year around here and dragged the resales with them.

My Daughter is waiting on her new build to be finished as we speak. Thankfully she got in before the big price hike.
