Wow, that was fast! Thanks for the welcome! Found this site randomly looking for tonal differences between EL34's and 6CA7's. Just started looking around, some good stuff here. My rig at the moment....

2021 Gibson LP Standard 50's
Marshall DSL100HR
1990's 1960a
2005 1960b

WAY more power than I need and my neighbors hate me but it sounds so nice! Biased up the stock power tubes to 75mV per side and it really opened her up but now I'm going to start playing with tubes. Have some EH EL34's coming but also thinking of trying the EH 6CA7's based on what I read here and elsewhere. Also swapping pre tubes with EHX 12AX7 in the V1 position (green channel), a Sovtek 12AX7LPS in the V2 position (green and red chanbels), a Svetlana 12AX7 in the V3 position (cathode follower) and a TAD 12AX-A-C ECC83 with balanced triodes in the V4 position. We'll see how it goes.

Go ahead and make it 90 mv per side.
Because it is when the power tubes are screaming begging for holy mercy, that the Marshall sounds most glorious.
And your neighbors will appreciate the difference too. it's a win-win.

HA! Marshall says these should be biased at 70mV per side. this isn't a dsl2000 that suggests 90. Not sure my HR could handle that hot.
