Welcome, Aynirar27

OK, there’s got to be a story here…

I wish there was a story, but really I'm just kind of a perv.

no actually I have it because it reminds me of my mom

but not in a pervy way lol. And she's totally alive, lives a few minutes away and I see her all the time. But growing up I was a naive teenager. Hearing AC/DC for the first time blew my mind and made me catch the guitar bug in 6th grade. I liked to doodle in class and sometimes I wrote song lyrics. One day I wrote out all the lyrics to Whole Lotta Rosie, and left them in my desk, not thinking anything of it. The teacher found it, thought it was a love note to someone in class and called my parents about it.

She read them the note and my mom says "hey, that sounds familiar!" She loves that tune. I had very little idea what the lyrics meant and we all had a good laugh about it.

Anyways, I told you that story so I can tell you this story. My mom gave me that figurine. Why she had it? I dunno man. But we called her "Rosie" after the song, and it's just always something I've kept with my gear, no matter how many times I've moved.

I also like to keep it nearby because she has a look on her face like "i'm a big beautiful woman, and I'm not impressed with your playing...." it keeps me on my toes.

Welcome, bro. Nice speakers ...I believe mine are the same although I only use headphones now with studio emulation software. I love the white!!

Right on. Thanks man. I’m probably playing through headphones 90% of the time. Most of my “free time” is after the kiddos go to bed.
I wanted some speakers that would thump a little when I had the chance to turn it up though

That's awesome! As a young teenager I remember asking a friend about Ted Nugent's Wand Dang Sweet Poontang. Wonder what Poontang means?
Mom - oh that's a bad word!!
So shocked she knew. She is well aware of many of my influences.

Sammy Hagar was on a tv show.
"He sang for Van Halen didn't he? Was he the first guy or the second? Who was the guy with the long blonde hair? Oh, David Lee Royh , I remember now. Your father bought a tape of his band once".

Mom will be 90 in June.
She rocks.

Our parents knew way more than we as kids gave them credit for.

Years ago sitting around at lunch, former coworker related a story from when we were in HS. (We were in HS together) Told us he’d heard his dad drop the “F” bomb for the first time…. In his memory anyway. Told us it blew his mind. He thought our generation invented that word. Yes. We all laughed at him.

Welcome!

Looks like you're a local guy. I'm on the North Shore. Nice Billy Bo! Here's one that I made.

That’s beautiful man. My original plan was a cinnamon red color but I just couldn’t get the stain right.

I love the north shore. We get out to Gloucester every chance we get (which isn’t much anymore). My brother married a Groveland girl and lives out in Haverhill so we have a place to crash now

I'm hoping that in the next week or two I may have some free time to spend a day in Glostah. Especially at Mystery Train. The Shanty will be open again in another week, so I'll maybe have the motivation to go across the bridge into Salem before the tourists start coming back.

Is the mystery train that record store? That place was killer.

All the years I’ve been traveling there, I never really explored the town much until my wife and I went together and walked around. We found all kinds of cool stuff. It was usually chill on Good Harbor then hit up Rockport with my family

Nice Boden 8 string ?
I don't even know what to do with 6. Lol

That one is a 7 string. I think the full name is Boden Prog NX7 but I may be mistaken.

I did have an 8 string for a little while but it was just a bit too much. It felt like a whole new instrument that I don’t really have the time or patience to learn right now.

I’m far from proficient on 7 strings, but it doesn’t feel strange to play one anymore. It makes for a lot of new chord voicings to learn though

Yes, that's the record store. I always like poking around town because it's so close and have friends there. I'm still hoping to get a nice day there by myself before the tourists start coming around again.
