Weber Beam Blockers or Tone Bra - Anyone Tested Them???

Good point.

I am always told my rig sounds very good and balanced, but I want to try and refocus the stage presence somewhat.

I've found myself, where I am standing next to my amp (working without monitors) and I can't hear it at all. Then, take a few steps left, to where i am standing right in front of it, and i can hear it, but it sounds like its really low volume and muddy...then take 4 or 5 steps backwards and the soundwave hits you like an Express train!!!!

Yah, you need at least eight or ten feet of distance to really hear an amp. Beam blockers might help with that - not certain though.
My understanding is that they're more about mitigating the on-axis harshness, rather than actually giving better diffusion overall.
Depending on the cab, maybe an amp stand or tiltback hardware in addition to the beam blockers...

Someone upthread mentioned open back cabs - much better diffusion than sealed cabs, though rather different in both feel & tone.
Also, they're more interactive with the local soundspace, so they can sound very different from one stage to another.
That's not to say that a beam blocker might not benefit these too - open back combos are beamy too, sometimes.

It's a good idea but I am too much of a neat freak...
you know the adhesive on the tape actually helps catch some of the unwanted tone----you do have to change the tape regularly though as it will get fool and be non functional--- you get several hundred hours of course depending on the quality of the tape --- and the adhesive---
the string fiber duct tape has a higher tone value (creating lower frequencies) while the poly tape is going to allow more highs through ---dont use packing tape it makes everything sound like cellophane

Any updates on this, Señor Robert?

Yes!!!!

I installed these on both 40 watt tube combos. The effect was immediately evident. The sound when sitting next to the amp was more balanced and the 'beaming' effect was greatly reduced. Now, rather than having posts where I can not hear my amp, I seem to have a more balanced effect across the entire tonal spectrum.

They do what they claim they do...
