I normally run the engine with the petcock turned off, so the carb is dry when it stalls out. Last year I never ran it during the winter, just my October maintenance day. Due to work travel this past fall, I was never able to do autumn maintenance to see if everything was ok. Even though I use fuel stabilizer, and there was very little in the tank, enough time went by that the little that was there did damage. I bought this machine 5 years ago, and it has maybe eight hours running time because it has snowed so little here in the past few years. Hunting for a carb now. Then I'll probably have to do the oil myself instead of letting someone else deal with it.Fuel can be an issue I shut off the fuel supply valve every use my snow blower and generator until it runs out then use the drain screw at the bottom of the carburetor float bowl why the fuel barge on the return trip they fill the tanks with salt water
