I want to do a low cost John Lennon Junior. It requires adding a Lollar Charlie Christian pickup to the neck
and removing the wrap around bridge and installing a Stop Tail and Tune-O-Matic Bridge.

I'd be buying the guitar and all the required parts, but have no skill in the routing of the body!

Here is blurb on someone who did one...

Karl Sandoval is up in the Victorville area.

I'm sure there are many luthiers in Socal, but the first reputable name that pops up is David Neely. I think his shop is located above the Hollywood Mesa Boogie store (across the street from Guitar Center).

Interesting project on that John Lennon Junior... (y)

The Charlie Christian Lollar PU is jaw dropping sound. Especially for slide.
BUT
You better install MEGA shielding inside the body, or you are going to have MEGA buzzing noise.
Just a heads up.
A. Follow Andy Mack's advice, shielding paint AND copper foil. Andy does it the best.
B. Do not use aluminum foil or aluminum tape.

Thanks guys, I'll check some of these out. They look like they may be expensive!

Any forum members think they can do the routing?

I want to do the rest of the build myself...

The Lollar Charlie Christian Tele Bridge does not require routing. It is direct replacement. $175.

The Lollar Charlie Christian for Gibson is made to fit a standard humbucking cutout. Does not require routing.

There is no neck pickup in the Junior and that's where the Charlie Christian goes on the Lennon guitar. Routing for the pickup, wiring and 3 way switch must be done.
