I'm thinking not necessarily YouTube for band stuff. That will be more the purview of our band leader.

I'm thinking primarily close-in work where the camera may be only a few feet from me for my own YouTube channel.

Almost any decent still camera will get you good 4k video for that unless you are in really low light. Lighting is big! . Soundwise, if it is just talking the built in mics should be plenty for YT.
A compact digital of some sort would do the trick, depending on budget and what else you might use it for.

Make sure to keep your bedroom windows closed. You never know who else has one of these cameras!

in our time they just use unlicensed drones to film and if you be naked they can post that just warning hold curtain closed.

OK camera buffs, I just purchased a Nikon Coolpix P1000 with 3000mm optical zoom and an additional 3000mm digital zoom. 3000 mm is 118 inches or almost 10 feet, must be a heavy lens or a typo. I have a Tamron 28-300 on my Canon, maybe 300 mm?

Remember the sensor is tiny. It is 3000mm EQUIVALENT in 35mm sensor size. Actual focal length is 4.2-539mm. Still a very impressive lens!!
