Warning Points ...?

I just noticed the category. How does this work?
Can you click it? Otherwise, it is how close you are to getting tossed! A scarlet letter so to speak! That said, I think your level is only visible to you when it is present. I know this only from another forum.

If you do something stupid, you get warned. Warnings are for good people that don't know better, but are willing to learn. Luckily we haven't had anyone deserve a warning here. People that do multiple stupid things don't get a warning, they get wished into the cornfield. These type of people will never learn.

So how exactly does this work?

If you get a warning and then have a perfect "record" for a year does the
warning expire and you get a fresh start or is the warning there forever?

How many warning "steps" are there before you get exiled?

If you are on "step 2" and you stay clean for 6 months do you go back to "step 1"?

If you are exiled is it permanent or are there various lengths
of exile depending on the seriousness of the offense?

Who determines if a particular post is "warning worthy"?

Who maintains the warning data base?

Is there a warning appeal procedure?

If so does each member appeal a warning on their own or should we elect
representatives to file the appeals on behalf of the membership?

There should be guidelines written down for all to see instead of us having some
mysterious abstract threat hanging over our heads like an invisible headman's axe.

As Tony M. says,
"Inside every can of worms there is a barrel of snakes just biding their time."
(Oh wait, that's me.....)

If you're a naughty boy cop it in the chin, if not it doesn't matter.
Leave all of that stuff to the people who went to great lengths to get the forum running.
We are here to serve our betters, not question them. Haaa haaa.

That's not Ron Howard (Opie) That's Billy Mumy from Lost In Space.

I do believe your correct on that.

from what I remember though, there was an episode on twilight zone with a kid who the town had to be nice to or he would do bad things. I think that's him...Maybe....I think. Ahh, who knows.

But, if it is that kid, he would have many warning points here!

You have nothing to worry about Tony, you have not been a bad boy. So far we have not found a need to write up the 10 commandments of this forum. If you are here it's because you were invited here by someone that believes you are a cool person. The software came equipped with a warning feature that we have not had to use and I hope that we never do have to use it. However please do not confuse our kindness for weakness. If someone joins this forum and antagonizes the members or staff, they will not be tolerated. There is no warning rule for jerks. If your intention is to cause trouble, you are not welcome here. This site is a friendly place with friendly members which should already know about common courtesy and how to respect the rights of others. So if we need to have rules, here you go:

1- Don't be a jerk.
2 - Respect the rights of others.

So if anyone here feels that this is an unfair policy and wish to incite trouble, please go somewhere else.

The term (Warning Points) almost makes it sound like something you want to get lol lol.but ya what Grant said in a nutshell.

One Warning Point for character misrepresentation!
